Iranians enjoy a global reputation in carpet/rug weaving. Rug weaving is an essential part of Persian culture and Iranian art. Persian rugs are mostly associated with the variety and elaborateness of its manifold designs.

The context of rug is actually a part of the collective memory of Iranians, too. Persian rugs have been ever-lasting, prominent objects in Iranian houses throughout the history, just like a witness of all moments of childhood, adolescence, parties, mourning, celebrations, weddings or any ordinary moments of daily lives in Iran.

This body of work is a metaphor of an Iranian life passing on such old heritage of rugs. It’s an exploration through the permanent presence of rugs in the Iranian houses by representing some ordinary life’s icons/symbols of great importance in the Iranian national culture.
