“Even in his absence” a 4-minute short film by Kaveh Baghdadchi (2017) will be screened as an official selection of 2018 New York International Immigration Film Festival on Saturday, July 14, at 11am showtime.

The New York International Immigration Film Festival (NYIIFF) will be held over two days at “Producers Club” in Manhattan, N.Y.C. on July 14-15, 2018, to screen accepted feature and short films made by immigrants or based on immigration subjects.

In this turbulent political climate, “Even in his absence” is to show there’s more that unites us than divides us. It challenges viewers not to judge about identity or nationality only through objects and cultural symbols, it challenges viewers to recognize the significance of beauty and possibility of having people from different ethnics living together.
